George is a leading figure in the field of fundraising consulting, starting his career in 1984 with an international consulting firm. After gaining valuable experience with two other national companies specializing in campaigns, he joined The Goldie Company in 1996. He then merged Goldie with BNP in 2020 to form BNP Goldie Canada.
George is renowned for his commitment to providing a high level of practical service to his customers. His ability to develop innovative solutions to fundraising challenges, exceed expectations and build lasting relationships is widely acclaimed. His dynamic approach to fundraising management has led to the success of numerous studies and campaigns for organizations across the country, including those in the municipal, health, education, religious, community services and heritage sectors.
George is the editor of The Vigilant Fundraiser: 12 Steps to Fundraising Success, a practical guide based on his innovative 12-step fundraising program. He is also the author of Dodging Tough Times: How Stewardship Programs Can Make All the Difference, based on a 2010 study of best practices in retaining major donors in Canada. In collaboration with Collis Reed Research, George co-published The Current State of Non-Profit Charitable Organizations in Western Canada, a comprehensive report based on a 2009 survey of non-profit organizations.
George is frequently asked to speak at sector events teaching fundraisers the elements of his 12 Step Fundraising Program. He has volunteered and served on numerous charity boards over the years.
