By the age of 15, Jocelyn Thémens was writing for the L’Écho du Nord newspaper in his hometown of Saint-Jérôme. With a passion for the media, he also hosted a music program on local radio. This experience led him to hold positions in journalism, radio and public relations for over twenty years.
His passion for philanthropy led him to a career dedicated to this cause. For 15 years, he held various positions at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec (now Heart + Stroke). As Director of Regional Development, he raised more than $80 million and oversaw ten regional offices, including the one in Quebec City.
Jocelyn then joined the Fondation de la Maison Michel-Sarrazin in the midst of a $25 million fundraising campaign for the 25th anniversary of the world’s first French-speaking palliative care home.
After a sabbatical year to be closer to his family in the Eastern Townships and to travel, Jocelyn joined BNP Inspire in 2018. He puts his listening skills and expertise at the service of organizations, helping them optimize their resources and grow. As a lay celebrant-officiant since 2014, he celebrates life in its happy and difficult moments, bringing respect, humility and sharing.
Innovative and respectful of donors, Jocelyn values collaboration to improve the world. His “philanthropy-communications-human capital” trinity guides his approach. He believes in youth and in balancing personal and professional life. His commitment and expertise make him a valuable asset to any philanthropic organization.
