In the early 2010s, Marc Lapointe turned his passion for community support into a career dedicated to development. His first steps in fundraising at the University of Moncton were marked by his optimization of processes for major and planned gifts, in close collaboration with the scholarship organization. Under his leadership, the number of scholarships doubled, and endowments increased by $25 million.
Since then, Marc has been called upon to lend his expertise to a number of universities and community organizations, leading sometimes complex and urgent campaigns.
Previously, Marc enjoyed a distinguished career in sales and marketing in private industry. He played key roles ranging from expanding a national chain of dealerships to negotiating contracts with major multinationals, launching national vehicle brands and overseeing annual sales in excess of $1 billion. Marc has held positions of responsibility at regional, provincial and national levels throughout his career.
In addition to his development work for charitable organizations, Marc is actively involved in his community. He sits on the Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Association of Fundraising Professionals. He is a member of the AFP Canada Government Relations Committee. In addition, he is founding treasurer and past president of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Greater Moncton, as well as past president of the French language section of the Durham Region Roman Catholic Separate School Board. In his spare time, Marc enjoys skiing, keeping active in various sports and spending time with his wife and their four children.Â
