Marie-Hélène Hivon began her career with a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Montréal, followed by a diploma in public relations management from McGill University. This solid foundation in communications and public relations paved the way for a rich and varied career.
In 2001, Marie-Hélène joined Tourisme Montréal as Sales Manager for the U.S. and international markets. In this role, she was responsible for managing European and U.S. markets, developing partnerships, and organizing promotional events for the city abroad.
She then co-founded Mom Industries, a multidisciplinary production company, where she served as VP Business Development and Executive Producer until 2015. Her responsibilities included business development, marketing, communications, fundraising and sponsorship, as well as producing and organizing events for various non-profit and corporate organizations.
The philanthropic orientation of Marie-Hélène’s most recent experiences led her to the Variety Québec Foundation, where she held the position of Executive Director. In this pivotal role, she oversaw the establishment and development of the foundation in Quebec, managing the creation of strategic and financial partnerships. She subsequently carried out various mandates for the Quebec Cancer Foundation and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Marie-Hélène returned to the private sector as Marketing and Customer Experience Director at KPMG. She then joined Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, where she was responsible for developing donations, sponsorships and events for the major campaign “Déployer le Nouveau Monde”. She also managed the campaign cabinet, team and volunteers, negotiated partnerships and developed cultural mediation programs.
