A citizen of the world, Oliva Chabi draws inspiration from her international background to build bridges between causes and those who wish to contribute to them. She is driven by a desire to help build a more equitable, tolerant, and inclusive world. With a master’s degree in international studies from the University of Montreal, she has over seven years of experience in the philanthropic sector, where she has distinguished herself through her commitment to causes that promote the rights and capacities of underrepresented communities.
Between 2019 and 2021, Oliva actively contributed to the fundraising efforts of the Fondation Jeunes en Tête, notably by helping to organize events that brought together more than 600 people and generated $600,000 in donations. She has also co-authored several funding applications, one of which secured $500,000 in support from a large corporation.
By joining BNP Inspire, Oliva hopes to contribute to the evolution of philanthropy so that it can better meet the needs of communities. She wants to play an active role in adapting philanthropy to new generations by promoting the next wave of young professionals in the sector and future donors.
Very involved in her community, Oliva is already an agent of change thanks to her involvement as an ambassador for diversity and inclusive governance within the Groupe des Trente de Concertation Montréal, a member of the Young Administrators Network of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, and a member of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Committee of the Association of Professional Philanthropists.
Outside of work, Oliva enjoys reading, traveling, watching documentaries, and playing board games. She believes that when individualism reaches its limits, community opens up new possibilities.
