Timothy B. Brown earned a B.A. from Empire State College, an M.A. in East and Southeast Asian International Relations from the American University in Washington DC, and a Ph.D. in Administrative Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University’s School of Education. First, he held the position of Special Assistant to the President at the University of Hartford, where he was able to focus on international programs. At the University of Maryland, College Park, he established the institution’s first international major gifts program for East Asia.
Tim was Director of Development at the American University of Beirut School of Medicine. He then served as Director of Development at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in China. Finally, in the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development, he directed fundraising for Asia at Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. During his tenure, he helped raise more than $3.2 billion for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as part of the institution’s major fundraising campaign which raised $9.6 billion.
With broad work experience in North America, the Middle East, Asia, Pacific and Europe, Tim brings a fresh perspective to corporate fundraising, reaching out to diverse stakeholders across cultural and political boundaries.
