With 20 years of professional experience in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, she brings a broad range of expertise in philanthropic strategy, major campaigns, governance, strategic planning, business development, communications, public relations, and organizational management. Throughout her career, she has worked in the health and community sectors.
Supporting philanthropic leaders in increasing their impact
Throughout her career, Marie-Julie Tschiember has developed a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector, a field that has been part of her professional journey since the very beginning.
She is particularly motivated by the opportunity to put her expertise in the service of organizations and the people who lead them. Coaching executive teams and boards of directors is among the work she finds most rewarding. She is committed to helping leaders better understand the impact of their roles and responsibilities and strengthen their interpersonal leadership skills, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Her desire to support organizations is rooted in a vision of philanthropy that is accessible to everyone. For Marie-Julie, everyone has the capacity to make a difference, regardless of their means, and philanthropy extends far beyond major financial contributions.
Creating stories through volunteerism
Over the course of her career, Marie-Julie Tschiember has contributed to two major campaigns that generated a combined $12 million in private investments.
Her commitment is also reflected in 20 years of volunteer involvement. She has volunteered with palliative care homes, Drummond économique, the Orchestre symphonique de Drummondville, and Collège Saint-Bernard.
Palliative care homes hold a particularly meaningful place in her journey. She describes them as places where life reveals itself in its truest, most fragile, and most beautiful form, and where every story serves as a reminder of what matters most.
Her contributions have also been recognized through several distinctions. She was named Female Manager of the Year during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and ranked among Québec’s top three women executives by the Réseau des femmes d’affaires in 2015.
Convinced of the importance of living life to the fullest and leaving a positive mark, Marie-Julie has drawn from her experiences with people nearing the end of their lives a philosophy that continues to guide her journey: collect memories rather than regrets, embrace life, and be proud of the stories you leave behind.
